Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

Effective Date: April 21, 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to hypertone ("hypertone," "we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use our website, app, public API, and related services.

hypertone helps users turn existing website and brand content into marketing assets, including images, videos, templates, screenshots, and related creative outputs.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account and profile data

When you create or use a hypertone account, we may collect:

  • Your email address
  • Your name, if you choose to provide it
  • Authentication-related data, such as sign-in codes, session records, and optional passkey-related account data

2.2 Workspace, source, and asset data

To provide the service, we collect and generate content associated with your workspace, including:

  • Property URLs, domains, slugs, brand colors, verification tokens, and related setup information
  • Source URLs, titles, descriptions, text, cleaned page content, structured data, metadata, fonts, and HTTP response details from pages you ask us to process
  • Uploaded files such as source images, reference images, logos, and brand assets
  • Generated screenshots, mobile screenshots, extracted images, templates, render outputs, posters, and zip downloads
  • Prompts and other instructions you submit for AI-assisted template and image generation

2.3 Session, device, and usage data

When you access hypertone, we may collect technical and activity information such as:

  • IP address, user agent, referrer, and access timestamps
  • Active session history and device/session records visible in your account
  • Approximate country, region, and city derived from IP address for activity and security logs
  • API token names, property scope, creation timestamps, last-used timestamps, and token values needed to authenticate public API requests

2.4 Billing and transaction data

If you buy credits, we may collect or receive:

  • Selected plan, credit amounts, transaction identifiers, invoice links, and purchase history
  • Checkout metadata needed to associate a purchase with your hypertone account
  • Limited billing details returned by our payment provider, such as billing country

Payment card details are handled by Polar, not by hypertone directly. You can read Polar's privacy policy here.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Authenticate you, maintain your account, and keep you signed in
  • Process submitted URLs, uploaded files, and instructions to create screenshots, extracted content, templates, and render outputs
  • Operate the public API and enforce property-scoped access controls
  • Run billing, credit purchases, invoices, refunds, and related account administration
  • Provide support, respond to questions, and send transactional emails such as sign-in codes and email change confirmations
  • Monitor performance, debug failures, prevent abuse, investigate suspicious activity, and protect the service
  • Improve hypertone and develop new features
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms

4. Submitted URLs and Uploaded Content

When you ask hypertone to analyze a URL, our systems load that page in automated browser tooling so we can extract content, detect branding, collect images, and capture screenshots. This may include scrolling the page and interacting with cookie banners when needed to complete the requested processing.

The operators of websites you ask us to visit may receive standard request information from our infrastructure, such as our IP address, browser information, and the fact that the page was requested.

We do not intentionally publish your private workspace content in a public gallery. However, uploaded files, screenshots, and render outputs are stored in object storage using generated URLs. Anyone with the relevant file URL, shared output link, download link, or active API credential may be able to access the associated asset.

5. How We Store and Protect Information

We store account records, workspace data, and activity logs in our application databases and store uploaded and generated assets in S3-compatible object storage.

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. No internet or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. How We Share Information

We may share information with service providers and partners that help us operate hypertone, including:

  • S3-compatible storage providers for uploaded assets, screenshots, and render outputs
  • Email delivery providers for sign-in codes, verification, and support-related messages
  • Polar for billing, checkout, invoicing, and purchase administration
  • OpenAI for AI-assisted template generation, including prompts and optional reference images you submit for that workflow
  • Replicate for AI image generation workflows, including prompts and source images you ask us to transform
  • Sentry for error monitoring and operational diagnostics, which may include technical context about failing requests or jobs

We may also share information:

  • If required by law, legal process, or valid governmental request
  • To protect the rights, safety, security, or integrity of hypertone, our users, or others
  • As part of a merger, acquisition, financing, bankruptcy, or sale of assets

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

hypertone uses cookies primarily to maintain secure signed-in sessions. If you block or delete those cookies, some account features may stop working.

We may also rely on similar browser storage or security mechanisms where necessary to support authentication and core product behavior.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain personal data for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain your account, protect the platform, and comply with legal, tax, accounting, or dispute resolution obligations.

If you delete your hypertone account, we queue deletion of associated workspace content such as properties, sources, templates, renders, and image generations, and we revoke active sessions. We may retain limited records where necessary for legal, fraud-prevention, operational, backup, or audit purposes.

9. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete personal data we hold about you.

You can also take some actions directly in the product, including:

  • Updating your profile details and account settings
  • Revoking active sessions
  • Revoking API tokens
  • Deleting your account

To request access, correction, or deletion beyond what is available in the app, contact us at support@hypertone.io.

10. Children's Privacy

hypertone is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will investigate.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we do, we will post the updated version on this page and revise the effective date above.
